The Communicator is intended to find out how participants in a development programme exercise their communication in leadership situations and how it can be improved and developed. Their own and others’ assessments can be combined to provide valuable support for their development as a leader. It is particularly important to collect other people’s perceptions. From experience, we know that sincere opinions make important contributions to the development of someone’s leadership. The result should only be used as support during leadership development and not to assess a person’s suitability for current or future leadership.
The results are summarised and reported to the participant. The results are owned by the person being assessed. The form is answered anonymously but it should be noted that the number of respondents is relatively small. Normally, it is sufficient to use opinions from 5 to 6 people, such as employees, colleagues and the immediate supervisor.
