The aim of the Manager Function Index, CFI, is to confirm and evaluate how management and leadership function in terms of both individual and organisational levels in relation to the task. The result provides impetus for continued development and the basis for the planning of activities. The assessment is carried out every other year. Kontura provides a summary of the results for every measurement, which contains comparisons with previous values.
With the Manager Profile® as the foundation, a CFI (Manager Function Index) can be drawn up for individual managers and on an overall basis for all units, departments and the entire organisation. The results are presented in an instructive manner with figures and graphs that employ different colours such as red, yellow and green to reflect the degree of success within management and leadership. Recurring measurements mean that it is possible to follow the development over time.
Our Manager Profile® measures the manager’s ability to lead the activities, the change processes, people and themselves. In addition, the Manager Profile® measures the manager’s self-efficacy, i.e. the manager’s belief in their own ability to handle new and difficult situations and to orient themselves in the light of altered circumstances.

How does the manager process their results?
Work material is included which the manager can use for their own processing of the responses together with the respondents. It is only when the respondent also describes why they answered the questionnaire as they did that the feedback becomes concrete.
Every CFI measurement gives the manager constructive and stimulating feedback while at the same time the organisation obtains an overview of where the managers are in terms of their management and leadership abilities.
Many of our customers request a product of this type as a complement to employee surveys. We consider that a CFI measurement gives a more comprehensive image of management and leadership than traditional employee surveys. The reasons include the following facts:
In addition to the manager, others also contribute to the assessment – not only employees but also the manager’s own supervisor and colleagues, i.e. 360° feedback.
Our studies show that the questions in the Manager Profile® work very well and reflect central aspects of management and leadership. Using tools such as factor analyses, we have found meaningful structures in the material and obtained a reliable level of measurement certainty (reliability)
We also measure the manager’s ability to handle complex situations – self-efficacy.
