Become a manager beyond the now - a sustainable manager
Sustainability in leadership means foresight and confidence in opportunities in a longer perspective. Our managerial development program Sustainable Managers® aims to, over time, make managers feel capable, committed and strong to develop both their leadership and their business. The management program meets challenges that managers face; increased complexity, constant changes, changes of skills, requirements to master new technology and new ways of thinking in the business, etc. The focus is to both develop leadership and provide inspiration to influence the conditions for exercising effective management and leadership. Researchers from Lund have made a new evaluation 10 years later of our first participants which shows that the effects remain.

Our focus in the programme is to continuously develop leadership skills in relation to the conditions of the managerial assignment. The central thing is to strengthen the ability to lead businesses, lead employees, lead change and lead yourself with confidence in your own ability to act even in uncertain and demanding situations. Preconditions for leadership are always present in the programme. The participants’ everyday lives and activities will be central throughout. Problems, dilemmas, challenges, enforcements and opportunities in your own work will be continuously emphasized in the programme and processed in various pedagogical forms.
Highlight opportunities and new ways of thinking
In order to create genuine learning in the programme, we will use a varied and engaging pedagogy, which is largely experience-based. It is based on activation of the participants’ experiences, exercises, insight-creating activities, theory, hands-on training of behaviours, personal action plans and goal-oriented homework. Our way of working is to always start a programme item with the participants’ thoughts and experiences and then carry out insight and training-oriented activities, theories that provide perspectives and secure learning and common summaries and conclusions. With our pedagogy, we are particularly careful about highlighting opportunities and new ways of thinking.
Programme content in short
Pedagogy, expectations, goals, the use of the estimation scheme as an “effect meter” for your development. Puts the manager’s context in focus, the importance of getting control and linking to the organization.
Two days investment in yourself. Your self-image. You identify and process the most important challenges in your work based on the 360 degree estimate in the Manager Profile, as well as a deeper interview with your manager. Your sense of context as a manager in relation to your employees.
Boot camp. Coaching each other in challenging conversations. Conflict management. Different communication patterns. We also explore transformative leadership. How do I lift and create courage in my employees?
With the help of our development tool “Team Management Profile” (TMP), we deepen your insights about personal driving forces in the work. You gain increased understanding of leading similarities and differences and how to lead groups in order to become more effective. You will be given an analysis of your management team and how it works.
From here you start from a real process of change. You work through a method for clear planning to create interaction and division of responsibilities. You are given tools that make progress visible and convey results that have been achieved. How do you handle different reactions from your employees and increase your knowledge of the importance of culture?
During the first day, your boss visits the program. Together with your managers you develop strategies for developing sustainability in the manegerial role for each company/organization. Finally, you make an action plan for your continued development towards sustainable leadership.
